ANOINTED PRAISE
Praise dance is a form of worship that seeks to articulate the word and spirit of God through rhythmic dance movements. This ministry is open to persons ages 3 to adult. BOYS TO MEN Inspires young men to serve the Lord through Bible study, Christian fellowship and engaging in outreach activities to assist and serve others. CHRISTIAN EDUCATION Devise, enhance and implement Christian Education Programs based on biblical, theological, educational and historical foundations. COMMUNITY OUTREACH Assists with the development of programs that reach out to the community. e.g. Food bank, Shoes and Clothes for Kids, Youth Outdoors, etc. CONGREGATIONAL CARE Provides assurance of God’s love by giving comfort and encouragement to persons and their families when they are going through various challenges in life so that they experience God’s love. COUPLE'S MINISTRY Provides enrichment to marriages and dating relationships utilizing biblical teachings, book studies, seminars, social/recreational outings, and peer to peer counseling through fellowship with other couples. COURTESY / GREETERS Provides a warm and cordial atmosphere by providing assistance and support to various church ministries as needed. Greets persons entering Bethany upon their arrival and departure in an effort to promote Christian fellowship. |
DISCIPLESHIP
It is the mission of the Discipleship class to connect people to the day to day activities at Bethany Baptist Church. The multi-week course, often held during the Sunday School hour, is designed to assist members in becoming stronger disciples for Christ. ENDOWMENT FUND / LEGACY Provides for the long term financial support of the Bethany Baptist Church and its commitment to spiritual, civic, and cultural endeavors in the surrounding community. GENERAL MISSIONARY LELAH LEWIS Stimulates a missionary spirit in the men, women and the youth of Bethany through prayer, study of the missionary messages of the Bible and engaging in community and foreign mission activities. Engages in community outreach, nursing home visitation and Bible study in an effort to have a stronger connection to the Word of God and principles needed to be effective role models for young girls. GIRLS 4 GOD Young ladies focused on drawing nearer to God by studying the Word of God while engaging in various activities and positive fellowship. (Girls Ages 12-18) Instructs and inspires young women to dedicate themselves to the cause of missions at home and abroad, while helping them develop into kind, loving, gracious and mature Christian women. HEALTH CARE Provides care for injury and sudden illness that occurs on church premises until professional medical help arrives. Provides blood pressure check-ups once a month in conjunction with the Minority Health Affairs Program. Also presents seminars, workshops and other pertinent types of information on health-concerns to members of Bethany and the surrounding community. |
HUNGER CENTER / FOODBANK
By collaborating with local agencies to maximize community resources. The Hunger Center Ministry provides food and household supplies free of charge to needy families on the fourth Saturday of each month. INTERCESSORY PRAYER Responsible for praying for others both inside and outside the Body of Christ. Dedicated to uplifting of others in mind, body, and spirit. KINGDOM KORNER A Community Resource and Referral Center of Bethany Baptist Church. (Matthew 28:19-20) MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND Provides assistance to Bethany Baptist Church high school graduates who apply for grants to pursue advanced education and/or training. MUSIC The Music Department is an important part of the worship service and spiritual development of the church. It currently consists of The Mass Choir, Praise Team, Voices of Praise, and Youth Choir. PARENTING Provides support, nurture and care for parents, grandparents and guardians raising children. PRISON Provides support and outreach to and for incarcerated members and their families. |
SENIORS
Provides assistance, information and resources to the seniors in the Church community. Responsible for organizing activities on an ongoing basis. SUNDAY SCHOOL The Sunday School is the teaching arm of the church and responsible for interpreting the Bible to all those who desire to learn more about the Word of God. The Sunday School is also responsible for teaching/training new and established Instructors. THE BROTHERHOOD Men of all ages coming together several times a month to draw closer to God, encourage one another, and engage in kingdom building ministry work. THE SISTERHOOD “Women making a commitment to draw closer to Christ and one another through Bible study, prayer, and ongoing fellowship. Engaged in various outreach efforts including the National Day of Prayer and support of local women shelters.” TRANSPORTATION Provides transportation to and from worship services, Sunday School and special events for the members of Bethany Baptist Church. USHER BOARD Greets and seats members and visitors during services on Sunday, Home going services and other occasions as needed; also assist with the collection of all offerings as needed and requested. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL Yearly activity that typically takes place during the month of June to equip and motivate children and adults to advance the cause of Christ through education, worship and fellowship. YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY (Y.Y.A.M.) Seeks to nurture our young people at Bethany and in the surrounding community, helping them to mature and advance in their knowledge of the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. so they can become the men and women that God created them to be. |
